How to create a survey with SmartFeedback

SmartFeedback's intuitive survey builder makes creating surveys a breeze, allowing you to effortlessly gather valuable insights from your audience.

Follow these simple steps to create your first survey:

Step 1: Access the survey builder

To get started, click the Create New Survey button in the sidebar menu

Step 2: Decide what you want to ask

In this step, you'll define the core question and settings for your survey.

Ask

First, select the type of survey you'd like to create. SmartFeedback offers three options:

  • CSAT (Customer Satisfaction): Measure how satisfied your customers are with your products or services.
  • NPS (Net Promoter Score): Gauge customer loyalty and likelihood to recommend your business.
  • CES (Customer Effort Score): Evaluate the ease of experience customers face when interacting with your company.

⚠️ Warning: It's not possible to change the survey type once it's created.

Next, choose the language you want your question to be presented in. SmartFeedback supports a wide range of languages to cater to your diverse audience.

Now, it's time to define the question itself. You can either select from a predefined list of questions or create your own custom question. SmartFeedback allows you to personalize the question's font, size, color, or even add your own HEX color code for a truly customized look.

Optionally, you can enable the "Ask for More Feedback" feature by toggling the switch. This feature allows you to gather additional feedback by including fields for respondents to provide their name and leave a text comment.

Once you've configured your question, click Next to proceed to the next step.

Design

In the Design step, you'll choose the style and appearance of your survey's option buttons, submit button, and thank you page.

First, select the button type and style that best suits your brand or preferences. SmartFeedback provides various options for button size and spacing to choose from.

Next, you can customize the text labels for the low and high score ends of the rating scale.

Additionally, you can update the text for the Submit button that respondents will click to complete the survey.

Finally, configure the title and message that will be displayed on the thank you page after respondents submit their feedback.

Once you've configured all the design aspects to your liking, click Next to move to the final step.

Configure

In the Configure step, you'll finalize your survey's settings and integration options.

First, give your survey a name. This name will help you easily identify and distinguish this survey from others in your SmartFeedback dashboard.

Next, assign the survey to the appropriate Business Location within your organization. This ensures that the survey data is correctly associated with the relevant location.

SmartFeedback offers a convenient integration with Google Business Profiles, allowing you to encourage satisfied customers to leave positive reviews directly on your Google listing.

Finally, use the toggle to decide whether you want to display the SmartFeedback branding on your survey or keep it hidden.

Once you've reviewed and configured all the settings, click Create to finalize and launch your survey.

Congratulations! You've successfully created your first survey using SmartFeedback's intuitive survey builder. Your survey is now ready to be shared with your audience, and you can start collecting valuable feedback to improve your customer experience.
